What This Service Is

Augusta Auto Glass Co is a mobile windshield repair and auto glass replacement service for the CSRA — the Central Savannah River Area — covering seven counties on both sides of the Georgia–South Carolina line. Work is carried out where the vehicle already is: a driveway, an office parking lot, an apartment complex, a job site, a school pickup line if that is genuinely where you are stuck.

There is no walk-in location, and that is deliberate rather than a limitation. Auto glass is one of the few vehicle repairs that genuinely does not need a building. Nothing has to go on a lift. What the work needs is level ground, room to walk around the car, and weather that cooperates — and most driveways in Columbia County supply all three better than a shop parking lot does.

What that removes is the part everybody hates. No dropping the car off, no arranging a ride, no sitting in a waiting room with bad coffee reading a laminated price list, no second trip to collect it.

The Area We Cover

The Augusta–Richmond County metropolitan area holds roughly 629,429 people, and its defining feature is that a state line runs straight through it. The Savannah River forms the Georgia–South Carolina border, and North Augusta sits directly across the water from downtown Augusta, in a triangle formed by the river, I-20 and I-520. Locally the whole region is the CSRA, and that is the term we use because it is the one people actually say.

On the Georgia side we cover Richmond County, including Augusta, Hephzibah and Fort Eisenhower; Columbia County, including Evans, Martinez, Grovetown and Harlem; and out into McDuffie County at Thomson, Burke County at Waynesboro, and Lincoln County at Lincolnton. On the South Carolina side we cover Aiken County, including Aiken, North Augusta, Belvedere, Clearwater and Graniteville, and Edgefield County.

Covering both states matters more here than the map suggests, because the two states treat glass completely differently. South Carolina drivers carrying comprehensive coverage have had no deductible on safety glass for 37 years, and that ends on 1 January 2027. Georgia has no equivalent waiver, and no general vehicle safety inspection either, which means a damaged windshield in Georgia is a roadside citation question rather than an annual test question. Why There Is So Much Glass Damage Here Right Now

Windshield damage follows construction, loose stone and speed. The CSRA currently has an unusual concentration of all three.

In July 2026 the Georgia Department of Transportation awarded Reeves Construction Company a $14.08 million contract to resurface 5.21 miles of I-520, the Bobby Jones Expressway, from the I-20 interchange to Exit 5 at Deans Bridge Road, with completion projected for 31 May 2027. Resurfacing on the metro's main loop means milled surfaces and loose aggregate for most of a year.

Beyond the highway there is the construction economy itself. Columbia County's population is up 30 percent since 2010, with Evans at 39,727 and Grovetown at 18,803 as of 2026. Google is confirmed as the sole end user and operator of the Columbia County Data Center at Appling, and an Amazon fulfillment center at White Oak Business Park is expected to bring over a thousand jobs to the region. Out east, TMC Transformers USA is investing over $15.3 million in a Waynesboro manufacturing facility, and the 55-mile Thomson–Vogtle 500 kV transmission line puts utility crews on rural roads across Burke and McDuffie counties. All of that is gravel trucks, site pickups and dump trailers on roads that did not carry them a few years ago.

Add the region's large fixed employers — Fort Eisenhower and U.S. Army Cyber Command, the Savannah River Site in Aiken County, Plant Vogtle in Burke County, Augusta University and Augusta University Health — and you have a metro where a great many people drive a long way to work every day, past a great deal of construction.

How Pricing Works

You get a price before anything is booked. What moves that price is the glass itself, not some opaque labor formula:

• The vehicle, down to the trim. Two versions of the same model can take completely different windshields.
• What is built into the glass. Rain sensors, heated wiper parks, acoustic interlayers, heads-up display, antenna elements and heating grids all change the part.
• Whether a camera needs calibrating. If your vehicle has lane keeping or automatic emergency braking, calibration is part of the job.
• OEM or aftermarket. A real choice with a real cost difference, explained in OEM vs aftermarket glass.
• Repair or replacement. A resin repair is a small fraction of a replacement, and we will tell you when you qualify for one.

For context, a common vehicle taking aftermarket glass with no calibration typically lands somewhere around $300 to $500 in the wider market. That is a range for orientation, not a quote — the only real number comes from your specific vehicle.

What We Will Not Do

Worth stating plainly, because it defines the service as much as the capability list:

• We will not sell you a replacement you do not need. If the damage is repairable, we will say so, even though it is the smaller ticket.
• We will not skip calibration. If your vehicle needs it, it needs it, and if it needs a controlled environment we will tell you rather than improvise in a driveway.
• We will not rush safe drive-away time. The adhesive manufacturer sets that number and it is not ours to shorten.
• We will not bond new glass to a corroded frame and call it a repair.
• We will not take a job we cannot do properly. If yours belongs in a controlled facility, you will hear that instead of a wasted appointment.

Mobile only. There is no walk-in address and no counter to stand at — the van is the shop. We work across Richmond, Columbia, Burke, McDuffie and Lincoln counties in Georgia and Aiken and Edgefield counties in South Carolina.
